About me

With competence and experience.

Visual impairment changes lives — but it doesn’t have to limit independence or quality of life. With the right guidance and the right assistive devices, many everyday challenges can be overcome, opening up new possibilities.

With over 40 years of professional experience as a self-employed master optician, certified low vision specialist, and low vision consultant, I bring comprehensive expertise to the care of people with visual impairments.

I’m also a founding member of the Low Vision Circle, through which I advise — both nationally and internationally — affected individuals, opticians, ophthalmology and eye clinic specialists, associations for the visually impaired, and anyone else interested in the field of low vision.

Services

Low Vision care,
that helps in everyday life.

For affected individuals, relatives, opticians, ophthalmology practices, clinics, associations and international partners.

Care for the Visually Impaired

My work focuses on individual, practical care for people with visual impairments. The goal is to make the best possible use of remaining visual ability, support independence in everyday life, and help restore a degree of quality of life.

Book your private appointment: individual advice and selection of suitable assistive devices — either at home in familiar surroundings, or at our the spaces of Gaida Optik GmbH in Offenbach-Bieber.

Training Courses & Workshops

Through practical training courses and workshops, I share expert knowledge in low vision care. At the same time, I support the development of sustainable care structures and promote collaboration between those affected, doctors, opticians, and associations and local groups for the visually impaired.

Available for booking by: opticians, ophthalmology practices, clinics, associations, educational institutions, self-help groups, and companies.

Assistive Device Exhibitions & Events

Assistive technology exhibitions give those affected, their families, and professionals the chance to learn about, try out, and compare modern low-vision aids. They offer a practical overview of current options and help with selecting individual solutions for greater independence and quality of life.

Optical and electronic magnification systems are presented, including lighting solutions, magnifying glasses, over-additions, telescope systems, contrast filters, electronic magnifiers, screen readers, text-to-speech systems, special filter and specialty lenses for different visual requirements.

Suitable for: action days, information events, self-help groups, ophthalmology practices, eye clinics, associations, trade fairs, and mobile aid exhibitions on-site.

International Projects & Export

GaidaVision International supports partners abroad in establishing modern low-vision care structures and in distributing high-quality optical aids, specialty lenses, and electronic devices. The goal is to give people with visual impairments worldwide better care options and greater independence.

Available as: project consulting, concept development, network building, training, as well as support in setting up low-vision care structures and sales of optical and electronic aids.

Low Vision assistive devices available directly from me

Every visual impairment is as individual as the person themselves. That is why I take the time for personal and independent consultation in order to find the right solution together. All recommended assistive devices — from magnifiers and electronic reading devices to special lighting and other Low Vision aids — can be purchased directly from me. Of course, you will also receive professional fitting and detailed instruction. My goal is to help you achieve greater independence, safety, and quality of life in everyday life.

We work independently with various manufacturers and providers of Low Vision assistive devices.
These include, for example, Schweizer Optik, Eschenbach, Optelec, Help Tech, EV-Optron, and VisuSolution.
